Carl Ruys
OWNER & OPERATOR
With over two decades in the construction industry, I’ve built my career from the ground up, starting at just 16 years old. I was born and raised in Ontario, where I grew up watching my father work as a roofer - a trade that sparked my early interest in construction. At 19, I moved to Alberta to work on the oil rigs, but life soon steered me back to my passion for building. I began my carpentry apprenticeship, successfully completed it, and never looked back.
For 14 years, I worked at a leading development company, contributing to the construction of over 1,000 condominium and apartment units. I spent 12 of those years as an Assistant Superintendent, gaining valuable experience managing large-scale projects, coordinating teams, and ensuring quality from start to finish.
Eleven years ago, I started my own company as a side gig, balancing it alongside my full-time role. What began as small projects and word-of-mouth referrals steadily grew into the thriving business I operate today. I’m proud of how far it’s come, and I’m excited about the opportunities the future holds.

Jake Nixon

Growing up, my father was a carpenter. He started out building custom log homes, using logs from our 248-acre wood lot. As time passed, he moved into modern custom homes. I started sweeping floors for him in the summer and earned my tool belt. Carpentry is a passion that runs deep in my blood.
When I moved to Calgary at age 19, I started out with a large development company doing basic form work and delegation. I quickly climbed the ranks to assistant superintendent. I then took a break from commercial construction to pursue pipeline construction in 2017. I remained in the pipeline sector for 7 years until deciding it was time to go back to my calling.
I wanted to start something creative, productive, and meaningful with my long-time friend and business partner, Carl Ruys. We have known each other for well over a decade and have worked together on countless projects for many happy customers.
Our goal at Full Contract is to provide you with the highest quality craftsmanship, along with the best trades for the jobs at hand. Each project is handled with care, passion, and effort that will last a lifetime. We look forward to working with you.
